Quotes of the ep
“it’s a plate with a hole in it”
The Spun chair creates a perfect connection between the two spaces and sets the playful, family tone of the space with a strong design edge and eco credentials.
Our design was about defining the functions of the space with colour blocking and creating connections through materials and flow.
But before we could get started we had to keep isolated in the hotel and it was such a contrast to our room this week. More LLB than 2LG!
We even celebrated a birthday in that room as we waited to get to location. That vegan chocolate cake was epic tho.
And had a little time to test the jesmonite cake stand make (perhaps this was why we ran out...eek, but it was fun).
The early starts and long days were intense but we were so up for the challenge.
The moment the paint starts to go on it is so exciting because the design had been on our minds endlessly so it was a wonderful feeling to make it real.
Originally the door was designed to be clad in the oak strips too but time had other ideas. Still the small compromises don't take away from the overall transformation and we were pleased to get so much done with such a large space this week.
Sometimes you have to be open to change on site and this show tested that to the max. But ultimately, our passion for Joyful minimalism is about creating clean statements to live in. Spaces with strong function, big personality and room to evolve into. We hope you love it as much as we loved making this one.
