Quote of the ep
“Somebody pass me a carrot…immediately”
Taking inspo from beauty and combining that with a love of digitally rendered fantasy interiors, we came up with our palette of colours and materials.
The room was a huge expanse of grey and white so we set to work putting that right straight away with a pixellated colour grid on the floor.
With this lovely space to play with we also introduced an epic circular bed/nest made from flexi ply and vegan pink leather that upholstered ourselves. With latex curtains to wrap around the bed, taking it to the next level.
Our own passion for fashion also came into play of course. We love a good crossover design.
The fantasy was in full swing with the spray cloud wall down one side. And those spraying outfits were certainly interesting...
George did an amazing job of keeping the crisp masked ceiling and walls either side, spray free so that the finished spray wall looked like a mural. The floor went in like a dream too with Martin on hand to lay the tiles out beautifully according to our digital plan.
And the ever lovely Tibby got working on the circular bed of dreams while we prepped the upholstery. Once ready to be rouched, we raised the bed up so that we could get underneath and staple all the rouched leather into place.
Meanwhile, out in the garden the decoupaged units were underway, using pink paper and pva glue to update the simple storage solutions.
Then came the false nails...
Oh yes, those bedside lamps took the fantasy to the next level and tested Anna's patience too.
Our 'Lipstick for doors' was a must for this space to compliment the beauty vibes and show that this is a space for a rule breaker and big personality.
We love to finish a room with some stunning florals and this gorgeous art is by our artist pal, De la Jardin.
Dressing table of dreams
And all too soon, it's party time and the reveal outfits go on, with lots of smiles and anticipation.
Way to go out with a bang!
This room is our love letter – to changing rooms and all its glory, to our younger selves who watched it as children, to those queer kids who are just finding themselves and to the incredible Donna, who we made it for. We designed this room because you deserve to feel next level beautiful and we hope it makes you feel your best self for real.
Big love to all who put their love into making this series happen in such difficult times and to you for watching and supporting us as we make these rooms happen for real. It really has been a fantasy come true for us and we cannot wait to do more. Bring on season 2!!
