We were inspired by the 1970’s cult classic italian movie, Suspiria by Dario Argento and the new remake by our favourite director, Luca Guadagnino. It is high drama with the most incredible sets. We have also been wanting to play with a Pink and Red colour scheme for a long time. So this was the perfect opportunity. Nature gone wild.
It was a delicious brief and we instantly knew we wanted to create a bold bathroom with a touch of theatre. Read on to find out more about the bespoke elements, the pieces we chose, and how we used sheet latex to add a playful touch. Based on the average size of a London bathroom, made into a box with arched window cutouts to let you peep through into the jewel like interior, as you might with a Kaleidoscope.
The curtains across the front is a playful extension of the shower curtain, creating a proscenium arch at the front, giving the opportunity of a reveal moment when the curtains open to show off the drama inside.
The pink basin is made made by Kast Concrete and fits perfectly into our pink and red design.
The curtains are made of pale pink latex, which hangs beautifully on eyelets from a red pole, to enhance the playful sexiness of the concept.
The bespoke mosaic tiles make up the walls and floors of our design. We chose several shades of pink and red in matt and gloss to create an ombre using stunning Bisazza tiles.
The taps and shower are from italian brand Fantini and were originally designed in the 70's. Here we pushed the colour to the next level by commissioning an all colour version in bright red. Coloured taps are the next big thing!
The light above the bath is a special edition red version from our Capsule collection, designed in collaboration with Cameron Design House, perfect for bathrooms and available to order now.
The pill shaped bath in bespoke pink steel is by Bette. So comfortably curvy on the inside, with elegant straight lines on the outside. Perfectly complimented by the sexy side table from new talent, Richard Lowry.
If this were a real space in a home or hotel the arched nooks would become mirrors or storage shelves. The overall effect is bold and we hope it inspires you to have fun in your own bathroom.
